I have a wife, Maureen, and three daughters, Maggie, Caitlin and Molly. My entire household has a birthday between 12/17 and 1/13. I am the last birthday of the year, and it always takes about a year until my next birthday comes around just like Christmas and New Year’s and Elvis’s birthday. Oh, yeah, the king was a Capricorn.

We live in East Grand Rapids, Michigan. Each of my daughters has competed in debate, and each has been on a National Top 10 “We the People” teams which argue constitutional issues at local, state and national levels.

Each of my daughters has gone to MSU (Go Green. Go White.) Maureen got her Master’s at MSU. Well, actually it was in Benton Harbor and she finished her thesis while we were up here in GR, but it was MSU.

I am not doing much right now. I am dribbling in some various activities but have not started handing out food at the food kitchens yet. I would rather look toward the Art Gallery, so maybe I’ll go there and see if I can volunteer for something or other.

I am still doing some stuff with Latin to amuse myself. I play the guitar a lot. I have several guitars, and mostly now use either one of my Oscar Schmidts or the Takamine A/E.

I like to travel, and I have been to some pretty amazing spots. As a matter of fact, I bet you have never been to Havana, Cuba, I bet. What about me? You want to think about that bet, buster.

On the other side of Cuba, I smoked a cigar while there, and it got me smoking again. Oh well. Don’t quit quitting. That’s all I know.

I am very flexible in politics because I have such a variety of thoughts on the issues I think are important.
