As a young child I remember we went to Alabama during spring vacation. My dad would visit (for the only time of the year) with his daughter Sally, and we would stay at the ... hotel at Point Clear. During drives down there I remember seeing chain gangs working on the road. Those trips were my earliest memories of the Elliot Ness show on TV, The Untouchables, with whatshisname as the moderator.
In my teens we skied alot. We belonged to The Otsego Ski Club, in Gaylord, MI and went there for at least a week during the new year break and the spring break. Keith Gornich (sp?) was a ski buddy for a year and his parents owned the thing. He still owns it. It is called Hidden Valley during Golf season. We also went to Bel Aire and Shanty Creek for several years, together with Boyne, Highlands, etc.
In high school we came out to Tucson and stayed at the Tanque Verde Dude Ranch, which is where the TV show Hey Dude was made; I guess during that trip my parents found a condo they were interested in, since thereafter a condo was purchased.
