It is my hope to find the answers to my questions.
First, there is that letter “H” and whether to use “a” or “an”. For examples: I would wait a hour to get a good picture of an house that has an historic past, if it were related to an hospital that had a heirloom wing where a honor of being born would be a honor.
Why is it wrong? Is there some cockney source there which came over to NY from England or Ireland?
Or the letters “often” which are often spoken like “off ten” as opposed to soften, which is of course pronounced “soffen” (or is it sophenn?). It all rhymes with coffin, so get it right.
I discuss the use of the word “So” to begin a sentence in my blog, which is here. . Don’t confuse it with the McBlog because that is just not correct - that is Maureen’s and I have to say she is not doing a good job of keeping up her page. If you have a page here and it needs correction or work, let us know at mailto:tomryan@tomryan.com because that is how we learn.
